After living a childhood with high exposure to violence, through their words, young people tell us their feelings about their construction of being young, they tell us about their day to day in one of the many neighborhoods thrown into the periphery in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, the economic capital of Mexico that bears the shadow of high rates of juvenicides, femicides, drug trafficking and unstoppable drug use.

DIRECTOR
Thom Díaz

thomDíaz (Monterrey, 1981). Mexican photographer and filmmaker. His visual work encompasses desolate landscapes and exile, portraits of intimacy, the reconfiguration of cities in relation to the exodus to inhospitable environments, both urban and rural. It also highlights the rootedness of traditions and customs, which define personal identity within the current homologation of societies. In recent years, he has focused on the analysis of marginal social contexts, situations of violence in adolescence, border zones, migration in the northern area of Mexico and the complexities they generate. The common thread of his work is the search for symbolic and poetic meanings hidden in the simplicity of everyday life.
