An aircraft suddenly gets stuck between the clouds. When little Fabiola looks outside, she sees a bright dot on the horizon, getting closer and closer. It’s Hippolytus, an old man who has lived in the sky for decades. With the help of his magic gloves, he transforms clouds into wondrous figures. But in the past years Hippolytus has grown weary. Shaping clouds is a frustrating and lonely profession. This is why Hippolytus wants to retire and return to earth. Will he manage to find a worthy successor?

Hanna van Niekerk (La Paz, Bolivia, 1991) is a Dutch director and screenwriter. With her graduation film, Hanna won the Wildcard Fiction Prize from the Netherlands Film Fund, which enabled her to realize her first debut film ‘If the Sun Explodes’ (2015). This film premiered at the Netherlands Film Festival 2016 where it won the MovieZone Youth Jury Award. ‘If the Sun Explodes’ was also shown in movie theaters in the Netherlands.
