A story set in a Mexico City housing complex that focuses on Matilde, a widow whose memory of her abusive husband continues to haunt her. She strikes up an unlikely friendship with Miguel, a 19-year-old neighbor. Both will form a peculiar friendship in which they will help each other to shake their inner demons.

Párpados azules won the award for Best Ibero-American Film in Guadalajara, in addition to the Silver Ariel for Best First Feature and the Special Jury Prize at Sundance. Sueño en otro idioma won the Audience Award at Sundance and six Ariel Awards including Best Picture. He was president of AMACC and belongs to Mexico's National System of Creators.
